The most important ongoing cost is your domain & hosting. The cost of your domain will vary depending on its popularity. We can help you purchase a domain if you need us to. You'll need to host your website as well so users can visit and use your website. Our hosting starts from €120 per year. You can find out more about our hosting options here.
We offer various website maintenance packages to keep your website functioning at its full potential. These start from €15 per month but are vital to make sure your website is up-to-date, secure and operational.

I've got a cheaper quote. Why are you more expensive?
With web design, you get what you pay for. There is a lot that goes in to building a website, and not everything is obvious from the front-end. Cheaper agencies will cut corners by giving you a generic templated website that looks like hundreds of others but with your branding, or by missing out vital moving or not optimising your website on all devices.

As we work on an hourly basis, the same investment over 3 months for a 4-hour client could be achieved within 1 month for a 12-hour client, speeding up progress. However, generally, we tend to say 6-12 months is a good estimate for seeing some results from your SEO. Can I learn SEO on my own? Why do I need Corfu Web Design?
Many people believe that they can save time and money by learning SEO themselves. While it is true that there is a wealth of SEO resources out there, they often contradict themselves and can become quite confusing for those new to the field. In the long run, it isn’t faster, cheaper, or easier to do SEO yourself, as most often this then requires the work being started from scratch later on down the line, especially if the work is not future-proofed or updated as needed. However, we do sometimes work on a consultation-only basis and can help support our clients in understanding what we do.

What is included in your monthly maintenance package?
Our monthly maintenance package includes regular website backups, security scans and updates, software updates, plugin updates, and uptime monitoring to ensure your website stays secure and up-to-date.
Can't I just leave my website without updating the plugins?
You can. But think about the cost of the lost leads of sales if your website is down or and people can't use the site at all. You also need to consider less obvious things, like if there are small bugs preventing people from filling in forms or purchasing products, these could go unnoticed for months.
Also, if your website were to get hacked and you lost everything or you made a detrimental mistake when editing the site yourself, we can take daily backups to bring everything back to life.
Finally, it's simply piece of mind for you. For a small fee, we can sort your out your website, and make sure that it continues to bring in the maximum amount of business possible, whilst you deal with what you do best, ensuring that you convert the leads that we bring. If your website is worth AT LEAST a few hundred quid a month in new or recurring business, it's a no brainer.
How often do you perform website updates and backups?
We perform website updates and backups regularly, typically on daily or weekly basis, depending on your which package you are on.
Will I have access to a dedicated support team if I have issues with my website?
Yes, you will have access to a dedicated support team that is available to help you with any issues you may encounter with your website between 9am to 4pm Monday to Friday (not including bank holidays).
Can I join a maintenance package if I don't host with you?
Of course! We have many clients on one of our packages that already had existing hosting. Most of them move over to us when their current contract finishes, just so everything is in one place, but feel free to stay where you are and let us simply make sure everything is functioning.
How do I ensure the security of my eCommerce website?
We use the latest security measures and best practices to ensure your website is secure, including SSL certificates, firewalls, malware scanning, and regular security audits.
Can you help with adding new features or functionality to my website?
Yes, we offer additional services such as website design, development, and customisation to help you add new features and functionality to your website as needed. If you're on one of our maintenance packages, you'll get a discounted rate too!
Support
What is a rush fee?
If you are in need because of an emergency, we may have to drop what we are doing with our other clients for that day in order to help you. We are more than happy to do this, but it will mean we are behind on our other projects. To make up for this, we charge a small rush fee (which will vary depending on how urgent the task is).
What sort of things can you help with?
Almost anything! You may need us to just check over your site for bugs, fix those bugs, add some products or content; basically anything that wouldn't require a whole project.
When do I get charged?
If it is an emergency, we will get to work right away and charge you afterwards for the work done. You must pay this invoice within 2 working days. If it is just some ad-hoc work that needs doing, we will send a quote, take a 50% deposit before work commences. The second half plus any additional work carried out will be charged after the job is complete.
Domain Names
What is a domain name and why do I need one?
Your domain name is how people find your website on the internet. Every website as an IP assigned to it, which is a string of characters that aren't very memorable. Your domain name is a way to make that IP more memorable. For example, www.corfuwebdesign.com is ours!
A custom domain makes your business appear more legitimate and professional and allows people to find you more easily online. We can create a website for you on your domain as well as set up a professional looking email like info@yourdomain.com.
Do I own the domain I buy?
When we purchase your domain for you, it is yours to keep and do anything you want with it. Although you don't technically 'own' it, you have it registered to your name and address. The renewal fee you pay is essentially an annual registration fee and as long as you keep paying this, the domain is your to do whatever you want with and no one else can take it off your hands!

What's the difference between Shared & VPS Hosting?
Shared Hosting is a common low-cost web hosting option appropriate for the great majority of personal and small company websites. VPS hosting is advised for clients with demanding or high traffic websites or for those simply wishing to host a website with quicker speeds. A VPS includes increased resources as well as caching technologies, to make websites extraordinarily fast.
For e-commerce sites, sites with a lot of traffic, or for clients who wish to use our server side caching technology to make their sites load as quickly as possible, we'd suggest our VPS hosting options.
Is your hosting based in the Europe?
Our primary facility is based in Frankfurt, Germany. This location provides brilliant speeds globally and especially in Greece.
Can I have access to the control panel?
Yes! Our servers use cPanel, which we can create you an account for if you would like an element of control. However, most of our clients never touch this and leave everything up to us.
Just remember, if you break anything on your hosting, we will have to charge to fix it (if we even can!).
